An area that many hospitals are increasingly looking into is patient satisfaction; whether you’re having routine surgery, are suffering from a serious illness or are having a baby, it is important that your stay is as satisfying as possible. This not only speeds up the healing process, it can play a major role in a patient’s mental health. Is it possible for hospital whiteboard communication to improve satisfaction levels or will it have little to no impact?

There are a number of reasons that could cause a patient to feel as if a nurse hasn’t communicated with them effectively – nurses often share more information than a patient is able to retain; they might omit information that they don’t feel is important; and patients might simply forget that the conversation occurred. There are a number of ways that a whiteboard can help to improve communication from nurses:
