TEACHING METHODS IN SCIENCE

1. GROUP DISCUSSION METHOD; This term refers to a discussion by a certain group of learners in the level for a specific instruction. The group discussion as a method of teaching science is identified as some sort of discussion i.e interchanging of ideas between students and teacher or among the group of students resulting into effective learning for the realization of predetermine teaching learning objective.

2. DEMONSTRATION METHOD;  In this step objectives of the lesson are stated. The teaching may be called demonstrator. He demonstrates the activity before the students that is to develop.

3. DISCOVERING METHOD; This method enable the student to generalize from simple experiences. It is based on the same principles as the scientists’ way of work. It helps the learners to gain meaningful insight into the basic structure and processes of science and mathematics.

4. LECTURE METHOD; In simple meaning, this strategy may be define as a mode planned scheme devised and employed by the teacher for presenting a segment or unit of the desired content material of a subject to a group of learners  through lecturing.

Step 1, Teacher should introduce the lesson by asking questions about the previous lesson to know what they have learnt.

Step 3, teacher should states the components and the uses of filtration

Step 4, During summary of the lesson teacher should ask questions randomly to know the average numbers that understood the lesson.
